Feed rescued elephants at Koh Samui's ethical sanctuary — no riding, no shows, pure respect
Samui Elephant Haven is an ethical sanctuary on the west coast of Koh Samui that rescues elephants previously used in logging, riding camps and street begging. Here, there is no riding, no chains, no tricks — visitors come to feed them, watch them roam, and learn about their natural behavior.
Two visit formulas are available. The 45-minute Feeding (1,000 THB / adult) is perfect if you already have a full day planned — combine it with our Safari Tour or a morning at the beach. The 3-hour Experience (3,000 THB / adult) is the full immersion: feeding, rice-ball preparation, meeting the baby elephants and the big males, and a free vegetarian meal at the end.
All visits are guided in English. Child rate applies from 4 to 11 years (500 THB for the 45-min, 1,500 THB for the 3h). Children under 4 go free. Advance booking is required — the sanctuary caps daily visitors to keep the experience intimate and non-stressful for the elephants.
No riding, no chains, no shows. Every elephant here has been rescued from logging or tourist-entertainment camps and now roams freely in a protected environment.
Feed the elephants their favorite tropical fruits, then roll up your sleeves and prepare nutritious rice balls — a hands-on moment that kids and adults love equally.
On the 3-hour experience, meet the young elephants (playful and curious) and the big males. An English-speaking guide explains each elephant's story and personality.
